Overview
FT/IR-4X is JASCO's Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR). It studies the molecular structure of organic materials and others from infrared absorption spectra, and in semiconductors it is used to analyze organic contamination and resin materials.
A sealed interferometer with corner-cube mirrors cancels external disturbances in real time. A 24-bit A/D converter, low-noise electronics, a high-brightness light source and a high-performance detector achieve a high S/N ratio of 35,000:1, supporting measurement of trace samples. Maximum resolution is 0.4 cm⁻¹, enough to measure vibrational spectra of gases. A semiconductor laser gives wavenumber accuracy of 0.0005 cm⁻¹, equivalent to a He-Ne laser.
The main unit is a compact 386 (W) × 479 (D) mm, and power consumption is 30% lower than before. A maintenance-free structure needs no overnight power or desiccant replacement and has self-diagnosis. It supports rapid scanning at 80 spectra per second, and MCT and InGaAs detectors can be added.
