Overview

The DSC-60 Plus series are Shimadzu's differential scanning calorimeters (DSC). They heat and cool a sample and a reference under the same conditions and measure the difference in heat flow between them to study melting, glass transition, curing reactions and more.

The measurement temperature range is -140 to 600 °C, and the heat flow range is ±150 mW. They achieve a stable baseline across the whole measurement temperature range, with what Shimadzu calls the highest level of sensitivity for a DSC. A liquid nitrogen cooling tank is standard, so measurement below room temperature is possible with the standard product.

A sample set temperature function allows quick sample exchange, a template function automates analysis, and heating and cooling data are easy to analyze. They support electronic records and electronic signatures (ER/ES) regulations, and power consumption is more than 20% lower and liquid consumption more than 30% lower. They are used to evaluate material properties in R&D and quality control of polymers, pharmaceuticals and food, and in semiconductors to evaluate encapsulation resins and other materials.
