Overview

ICPMS-2050 is Shimadzu's ICP mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). It ionizes samples in an inductively coupled plasma and measures trace elements by mass spectrometry. In semiconductors, it is used to analyze ultra-trace impurities such as metal contamination in chemicals, ultrapure water and on wafer surfaces.

An evolved proprietary mini-torch system combines low environmental impact with analytical performance. It has a newly developed collision/reaction cell and a high-performance quadrupole mass filter.

Fast switching of cell gases and special functions shorten measurement time without additional options. It is designed to minimize operator work, with a pre-rinse function that cleans the introduction system during sample measurement, extended rinse that optimizes cleaning automatically, a solution switching valve that allows unattended operation after the plasma is lit, and preset methods that allow analysis to start right after installation. It received the iF Design Award 2024 and the Red Dot Design Award 2024.
