Overview

NEXTA STA200 is Hitachi High-Tech's simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA / TG-DSC) instrument. It measures mass change and heat flow at the same time while heating a sample to study decomposition, phase transitions and reactions of materials.

The digital horizontal differential balance developed by Hitachi is less affected by buoyancy from purge gas and cancels behavior that does not come from the sample on the reference side, giving a stable baseline. Newly designed balance stabilization detects tiny mass changes over a wide temperature range. High-flow gas purging of up to 1,000 ml/min quickly removes decomposition gases.

DSC is standard, supporting DSC measurement of phase transitions at high temperatures up to 1,500 °C, which is difficult for general-purpose DSC instruments, as well as sublimation, evaporation and thermal decomposition. A new gas flow path allows measurement in a low-oxygen environment without evacuation, and temperature-modulated DSC can also be used up to high temperatures. The sample observation model STA200RV uses a high-resolution camera to watch changes in the sample during measurement and offers its own color analysis.
