Overview

Dai Nippon Printing is headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In December 2024 it announced that it had resolved the fine patterns needed for EUV photomasks for logic at the 2 nm generation and beyond, including 17 nm line-and-space patterns, and had completed basic evaluation of masks for High-NA EUV. It aims to start volume supply for the 2 nm generation in fiscal 2027.

In packaging, DNP makes etched lead frames for QFN packages, with silver plating formed to ±25 µm and roughened copper surfaces for better adhesion to the mold compound.

Business: Photomasks and lead frames

Why it matters

Every lithography layer is printed from a photomask, and EUV masks for the 2 nm generation are among the hardest to make.
DNP's EUV mask development draws on collaboration with imec.
