Overview
Photoionizer L12645 is Hamamatsu Photonics' static eliminator using weak X-ray irradiation. Unlike conventional corona discharge types, it neutralizes charge cleanly without generating dust, electromagnetic noise or ozone.
The X-ray irradiation angle is a wide 130°, and ions generated near the charged object neutralize it directly, so no airflow is needed. This also makes it suitable for neutralizing light parts and powders. Because positive and negative ions are generated in equal amounts at the same time, reverse charging does not occur.
A maintenance-free design with no electrodes to clean keeps it highly effective over long periods. The head is about 1/2 the size of the earlier product, it accepts 100 to 240 V input power and it complies with CE marking. It is used to remove static during semiconductor and electronic component manufacturing, and to neutralize fast-moving objects and powder materials.
