Overview
M6242 is Advantest's test handler for volume DRAM production. A test handler works with an IC test system to transfer large numbers of chips at high speed and control their temperature during testing, and it is essential for volume semiconductor production.
Throughput is among the highest in the industry at 42,200 devices per hour, more than twice that of the previous M6241. The complex arm mechanism that sorts good and defective devices after testing has been optimized to transfer devices efficiently.
It handles memory packages such as BGA and CSP and controls temperature to ±1.5 °C over a setting range of -10 to 100 °C to raise yield. A larger screen shows more detailed menus than the previous model for easier operation. A related model is M6243.
